Gymnic Peanut ball/Peanut ball
Gymnic Peanut ball/Peanut ball
The peanut ball, also known as the peanut ball
The Peanut ball is widely used for training (sports, working) dogs, and for rehabilitation and therapy. The peanut's unique shape limits movement to only forward and backward movement.
When the ball is used lengthwise, the dog can also move sideways.
The peanut shape of these exercise balls offers a larger contact surface with the ground than the gym balls and eggballs, providing more stability during exercises.
The peanut balls are strong and made of good quality PVC. The peanut ball is also extremely suitable for diagnostic purposes, training of active stability, balance, flexibility, coordination, rehabilitation and therapy.
How do I choose the most suitable peanut ball size for your dog?
That depends on what kind of exercises you want to do with the dog. But for a guideline, you can consult the table below.
- If you want to use the peanut ball to set up the 4-legged dog, measure the dog's height when standing from the front legs to the back legs.
The dog must be able to stand completely on top of the peanut ball in its natural stance/position. You can always choose a larger size peanut ball for a small dog, but never a smaller peanut ball for a large dog.
If you have several dogs, choose the peanut ball that fits the largest dog.
Using a larger ball with a small dog offers the advantage that you have more surface to work on and it is more comfortable for your own back (then you don't have to bend over as much).
If you want to use the peanut ball, for example, to train the stability of the hindquarters, for weight-bearing exercises or rehabilitation (where the dog stands partly on the ground and partly on the ball), then choose a peanut ball that is slightly below the height at the withers. of the dog.
The indicated height of the peanut ball is the maximum height of the ball. Do not inflate the ball higher than this height. The challenge of the exercises can be adjusted by pumping up the ball less hard.
Always supervise the dog when working with this balance material. We recommend holding the dog in a harness or safety harness/vest, especially if it is new and exciting.
