Full-coverage Ski Patrol Red cape
One of the most distinctive features of the Ray Allen Nomad Ski Patrol Harness™ is its full-coverage nylon body.
Unlike the more open standard Nomad Frame, the Ski Patrol configuration covers considerably more of the dog’s body. This provides additional warmth for working dogs spending extended periods outdoors in cold conditions.
The cape is finished in an exclusive Ski Patrol Red color. This bright red design helps the dog stand out against white, snowy surroundings and can make visual identification easier in difficult conditions.
Visibility will always depend on distance, weather and terrain, so the color should complement rather than replace other appropriate location and safety equipment.
Nomad Skid Plate for chest and belly protection
The Nomad Skid Plate is included as part of the Ray Allen Nomad Ski Patrol Harness™.
This component provides additional coverage underneath the dog and is designed to protect the chest and belly while moving through hazardous terrain. It helps resist abrasion and reduces exposure to puncture hazards encountered during demanding field work.
For working dogs moving across rocky, icy or otherwise challenging surfaces, this additional underside protection is particularly useful.

Four 2,500 lb metal Cobra buckles
This model is fitted with four AustriAlpin metal Cobra buckles, with two positioned on each side.

Three handles for increased handler control
The Ray Allen Nomad Ski Patrol Harness™ incorporates three strategically positioned handles.
Two are horizontal and one is positioned vertically in a suitcase-style configuration. This provides the handler with multiple ways to maintain close control of the dog when loading, guiding or positioning the K9.
The strapping, V-rings and handles are sewn directly into the harness structure for additional stability.
This can be particularly valuable when working around vehicles, snowmobiles, difficult terrain or other situations where the handler may need immediate physical control of the dog.
Two V-rings and six G-hook loops
Professional K9 equipment often needs to accommodate more than a standard leash connection.
The Ray Allen Nomad Ski Patrol Harness™ therefore includes two V-rings on top of the harness. These can accommodate compatible running leads, lift straps and tracking lines depending on the application.
There are also three G-hook tab loops on each side, providing six G-hook attachment points in total.
Compatible pouches, bags and accessories can therefore be added according to the requirements of the assignment.
MOLLE and VELCRO® attachment options
The harness incorporates laser-cut MOLLE based on the PALS system, providing additional possibilities for configuring compatible professional K9 equipment.
VELCRO® areas are also incorporated into the design. These allow compatible identification panels and hook-and-loop patches to be positioned on the harness.
