The NIJ (National Institute of Justice) rating classifies ballistic protection by levels of protection. It is important to know what level your tactical gear vest, mask, helmet or other accessory should be before purchasing it.

Some companies take advantage of the NIJ's confusing names to sell you military gear that doesn't meet your tactical needs. We've done extra work to prevent that from happening. So, what should you look for when getting a bulletproof body armor product? There are only three "levels" of body armor that we recommend.

Our bulletproof vest undergoes testing and certification in two places. Tested in-house and then independently certified by an NIJ Certified lab to confirm it falls into one of these categories.
