One training aid provides 18 months supply of synthetic nitromethane scent for explosive detector dog training.

The fragrance is impregnated in a silica-based substance held in a leak-proof cotton pouch.
To use, simply remove from the odor-resistant bag, place in a stash cage, underground pipe, or narcotics bag, and set up as you would for the real substance.
Once you have completed the training, replace the bag and store it in the freezer, refrigerator or cool box.

Nitromethane kits contain 2 x Nitromethane training aids, a magnet stash tube, underground stash pipe, auxiliary protective bag and scent towel.

Nitromethane is often used as a solvent and also as a fuel in motorsports.
It is also used as an explosive and can be mixed with ammonium nitrate to make ANNM which has been used in homemade bombs.
