Harness

The Ray Allen Nomad Harness Frame™ w/ GT Cobra Buckles is a professional tactical dog harness designed for lightweight performance, reliable control and operational versatility.

Developed for police K9 units, military working dogs and specialist handlers, this harness forms the foundation of Ray Allen’s Nomad Interchangeable Harness System™ (I.H.S.™).

Featuring four AustriAlpin polymer GT Cobra buckles, each individually load-tested to 500 lb (approximately 227 kg), the frame combines secure fastening hardware with durable Mil-Spec nylon webbing.

Three integrated handles, two top-mounted V-rings and a padded Y-shaped chest frame provide practical handling options while maintaining comfort and freedom of movement.

The harness functions independently or can be customized with compatible Nomad accessories to meet different operational requirements.

Why Choose the Ray Allen Nomad Harness Frame™ w/ GT Cobra Buckles?

Professional K9 handlers require equipment that combines secure fastening, practical handling and adaptability.

The Nomad Harness Frame™ with GT Cobra Buckles offers several advantages:

Four AustriAlpin polymer GT Cobra buckles, individually rated to 500 lb

Three integrated handles for improved handling and control

Two top-mounted V-rings for leash and tracking-line attachment

Padded Y-shaped chest frame for comfort and mobility

Durable Mil-Spec nylon webbing construction

Three G-hook attachment loops per side for compatible accessories

Fully adjustable fit for different working-dog builds

Compatible with the Nomad Interchangeable Harness System™

Lightweight design for demanding professional assignments

Made in the USA

These features provide a versatile harness platform for professional handlers who need dependable equipment across different assignments.

Lightweight AustriAlpin GT Cobra Buckles

The Ray Allen Nomad Harness Frame™ w/ GT Cobra Buckles features four AustriAlpin polymer GT Cobra buckles designed for secure fastening and practical everyday handling.

Each buckle has an individual manufacturer-stated load-test rating of 500 lb (approximately 227 kg).

The four-buckle configuration allows handlers to open the harness from either side, simplifying fitting and removal without requiring the dog’s legs to pass through the straps.

Compared with the Metal Cobra version, which features buckles individually rated to 2,500 lb, the GT Cobra configuration offers a lighter alternative for professional K9 applications.

Important: Individual buckle ratings do not represent the certified working load limit of the complete harness assembly.

Specialized lifting, lowering or rappelling requires a suitable complete system, approved equipment configurations and qualified personnel.

<a professional assignments.

Two horizontal handles provide grip points for assisted movement, while the central vertical suitcase-style handle allows close control and positioning.

These handles are useful during:

Police and military K9 deployments

Assisted movement over obstacles

Vehicle loading and unloading

Tactical positioning and close handling

Professional training exercises

The handles, straps and V-rings are sewn into the harness frame for additional stability.

Handlers should always assess the complete harness configuration and the dog’s condition before attempting assisted lifting or movement.

Padded Y-Chest Design for Comfort and Mobility

A professional working-dog harness should provide secure control without unnecessarily restricting movement.

The Ray Allen Nomad Harness Frame™ features a padded Y-shaped chest construction designed to distribute contact across the front of the dog’s body.

This configuration helps reduce pressure around the armpits while allowing natural shoulder movement during running, tracking and training.

The lightweight webbing design also helps reduce unnecessary material coverage, supporting comfort during extended working periods.

Adjustable straps and VELCRO® fastening points allow handlers to adapt the harness to the individual dog’s proportions.

Correct adjustment is essential to maintain a secure and comfortable fit.

Part of the Nomad Interchangeable Harness System™

The Ray Allen Nomad use.

Although the GT Cobra buckles are individually rated to 500 lb, this does not establish the lifting capacity of the complete harness.

Specialized activities such as rappelling, hoisting or suspended transportation require approved equipment configurations, suitable additional components and professional training.

Inspect all buckles, handles, webbing, stitching and V-ring attachment points before deployment.

Care and Maintenance

Regularly inspect the harness for worn webbing, damaged stitching and compromised fastening hardware.

Remove dirt and debris from the GT Cobra buckles and attachment points after demanding operations.

Clean according to the manufacturer’s instructions and allow the harness to dry completely before storage.

Replace or professionally assess equipment showing structural damage.

Ray Allen Nomad Harness Frame™ at Dogpride NL

The
